Wearing makeup - all the time

This post was inspired by an article posted on one of my favorite blogs, Barbie Martini. The post in question shows Liza Minelli without her makeup – posing for some Russian newspaper. The comment says:

"Who doesn't at least put on some lip gloss for an interview???"

I think Liza looks gorgeous, not afraid to show her age, and probably fed up with all that makeup she had to wear when she was younger.

Which brings me to ask myself: when was the last time I left the house without my makeup on? I sincerely can't remember. To be terribly honest, I'll admit I put a concealer (under eyes, on my chin and to hide a sporadic acne) and some mascara on even when I go out to walk my dog. Is this horrible?

I wonder when did I become so obsessed with my face, and why should it be so horrible to show my neighbors, other dog walkers or the cashier lady at the supermarket I didn't sleep well last night?

Talking to my friends, I realized I was not the only one no-makeup phobic, and many girls practice the 'natural' makeup look even when they don't feel like bothering at all. But once you start putting on your 'no-makeup' makeup, you know it'll take you 10 to 20 minutes to look rested and healthy, with no cosmetics showing.

The Onion article suggests we girls take it easier on ourselves:

"But really, a quick shower and a towel-off will do the trick just as well."

I promise I'll give this advice a try, but only if I can leave my sunglasses on.
