It's a rainy, bland day in New York and I must say it took a lot of energy for me to trek down to the Metropolitan Pavilion for day 1 of The Makeup Show.

Founded by Michael DeVellis of makeup artist resource/organization The Powder Group, The Makeup Show has evolved into a two-city (they hit Miami in February) yearly must-attend event for anyone involved in beauty.

Nearly every makeup brand imaginable was in attendance today including big guns like MAC, Stila and Lancome along with niche brands like Lord & Berry,Kissable Couture and Beauty Addicts. Many booths had key makeup artists or the company's founder present (Keisha Whittaker, wife of Forrest Whittaker and founder of Kissable Couture was a showstopper IRL)and loads of makeup (duh), demos and expertise are available.

The Makeup Show runs through tomorrow, May 19 at the Metropolitan Pavilion, 125 West 18th Street. Show hours are from 9am-6pm and tickets are $55 at the door.
