Tap it in!
Filed in archive Makeup on May 3, 2007
I have to admit that concealers and stick foundations are the makeup items I buy most often, simply because I use it up the fastest. By now I have tried tons of different brands, but no matter which concealer you use, there is only one way to put it on: tap it in!
Maybe you are not aware of this, but if you smear the concealer you could be only enhancing the things you'd rather hide. This is because even the fanciest concealer will crease into skin wrinkles if smeared in that direction, especially after a long hot and humid day. On the other hand, if you tap it on lightly with your fingertips, the concealer will undoubtedly last longer on your face.
But, don't take my word for it - try it for yourself and see the difference. For hiding under eye dark circles apply a few dots of concealer to that area and tap tap tap until it blends with your skin. If you're trying to hide away a pimple use the same makeup technique, but do not tap directly on the acne, rather blend the outer parameters of the 'perpetrator'
Oh yes, one more thing - try to apply a moisturizer before you start with concealer, but let the crème sink in thoroughly, because dehydrated as well as greasy skin will lessen the power of your concealer.
I'm currently using MaxFactor Erace, which is not too thick, great for summer.
