Sneak Preview: Chanel Fall 2008 Beauty
Filed in archive Makeup by Dina Fierro on April 18, 2008

I've worked in fashion and beauty for about five years and let me tell you, it's still a huge adjustment how quickly things move. For example, I JUST switched over my closet for spring and have been shopping for summer clothing and sandals. Yet at my day job, I'm hard at work pulling together a fall outerwear lookbook for a client and for my blogging gigs, I'm being inundated with tempting images of the gorgeous Fall 2008 color collections. The first to really pique my interest is Chanel.
Using Natalia Vodianova as the face for the brand (above), the Fall collection is a study in gold created by Chanel's new creative director of makeup, Peter Philips. Philips is said to have been inspired by coco chanel
's Rue Cambon apartment in Paris, which is warm with shades of browns, bronzes and golds.
Key items in the collection include Gold Fiction, a softly shimmering nail polish (the next Blue Satin?) for $30; Facettes D'Or, a finely milled gold loose powder at $56; Gold Light Glossimer for $26; Rouge Hydrabase lipstick shades in copper, plum and coral, each $27, and a quad eye shadow palette with gold, coffee, ivory and dark green eye colors, $56.
Chanel's Fall 2008 makeup collection will be available in stores in July.
