With the wide availability of just about any product on the Internet, cosmetics are as easy to buy with a click of your mouse as anything else. But should you purchase your makeup online?
Sometimes it's difficult enough trying to figure out if a foundation is your perfect match in the drugstore through that plastic packaging, so imagine trying to find your exact shade by looking at a computer screen, where the color images on your end might not be the same as the images on the other end. It's disappointing to finally receive the lipstick you were so excited about and see that it's not even close to the color you saw on the website.

Some things should probably not be purchased online, unless you have experience with that exact shade and the company. The Beauty Talk and Beauty Tip blog has useful tips for buying online cosmetics.
There are definitely some bargains to be had, especially with the holidays approaching, but to make sure you're happy with what you buy and to save yourself the hassle of returning items (if that's even possible; read the fine print), look carefully, remember that different products have different shelf lives and if you can get a recommendation from a trusted source first, by all means do so.
'Til next time, my pretties.

I would only recommend buying cosmetics online if you are buying a brand you are familiar with, it's the same with buying clothes, shoes etc online. Like the article said your monitors calibration can also make a dramatic difference.

I agree. It's not easy finding the right shade. I've got so many wrong shades for my foundations I ordered. The pictures can be misleading too. Once I ordered something and was shocked to see it was much smaller than expected.
