Shampowder

Maybe some of you have heard of that hurried tactic of dusting your hair with talcum powder when there was no time for a proper shampoo? I've never tried it, but in a pinch, it works at getting that oily look out of your hair. And that's why I've never done it: my hair is curly and oil isn't necessarily a bad thing with me.

Now you don't have to rely on powder if you just can't shampoo. Plus, you won't walk around smelling like a newborn baby. Buttercream Cosmetics, Inc. has come out with Shampowder, a vanilla-scented hair powder that contains mineral pigments. There are two tones of Shampowder, one for light hair and one for red or dark hair. I'm sure this is much better for blending than white talcum.

You apply it with a handy brush so you have control over where the powder goes. If you're curious about this new product, check out the FAQs at the Shampowder site.

I know some women would D-I-E if they didn't wash their hair every single day, but too much shampooing is harsh on some hair, whether dry or curly. This won't take the place of a proper shampoo, but for those days you can't spare the time or for freshening up locks that can't take everyday lathering up, Shampowder is worth a look.

'Til next time, my pretties.
