Gradually Builds A Beautiful Summer Glow
dove believes that real beauty can be genuinely stunning.
That's why Dove developed Energy Glow Daily Moisturizer with subtle self-tanners. It gradually enhances and evens out your natural skin color, giving you a beautiful summer glow all year long. For great results after about one week, apply daily all over to gradually build a beautiful summer glow.
NOT! I hate it when people lie, and this makes me furious. Read my story girls:
I was really excited to try on this product, as it promised to have a nice smell, be really moisturizing and deliver a streak free summer glow. After a few uses I was pleased with the easiness of application, but learnt a lesson to wash my hands after doing one half of my body, because the lotion managed to develop rather unpleasant brown flecks between my fingers and under my fingernails.
After seven days I had no visible tan developed, but decided to use the Dove Energy Glow further, as it did moisturize nicely.
Than, after about 10 days of use my friend asked me what was that orange streak on my leg. And there it was: an ugly, orangy streak. With careful examination, I found a couple of other blotches of color and white skin all around. Yikes!
I stopped using the product, but it was not over yet between me and Dove tanning lotion: after each shower my skin would stain towels, with (otherwise not visible) tan coming off. It took a few exfoliations to get the orange blotches off, though.
To sum it up: I didn't get the beautiful summer glow, didn't get my skin enhanced and evened out, and I wasn't looking stunning. So, the packaging lied, plain and simple.
But, I'm not ready to give up tanning lotions, I want that tan and don't want to sunbathe or go to a salon! I'll just have to find a good lotion with self tanners. Any suggestions?

I have been using this product since it came out with great results. Like The Fashionable Housewife, I exfoliate daily and have no streaking at all. The trick is to use a color that is lighter than you think you need. I used the Medium and didn't get that orange color. I suggest you give it a try again and see what happens!

Thanks for the info girls! I'm really glad that someone enjoyed this product, but as I could read, some very nasty reviews have been posted on MUA, so I guess it depends on...I don't know. I exfoliate regularly, have no problems with my skin, used the lightest color etc... Maybe it has something to do with my skin's consistence? I don't know.

I found that you need to shower once a day and scrub with an exfoliant to avoid the dirty towels etc. .I don't know. I exfoliate regularly, have no problems with my skin, used the lightest color. You skin naturally flakes off after a few days, but when you have a real tan or no tan at all, you don't notice it. When you color it with a self tanner, you are only coloring a couple layers of skin. When they flake off, you are going to have splotches.

As with all self tanners, you need to wash your hands afterwards. Everyone knows that!
Secondly, it didn't streak for me at all. You don't want to apply it like a lotion, even though it IS a lotion. You still want to at least attempt to apply it evenly. I did not get any streaking and I used this product for 2 weeks straight.
Thirdly, I found that you need to shower once a day and scrub with an exfoliant to avoid the dirty towels etc. You skin naturally flakes off after a few days, but when you have a real tan or no tan at all, you don't notice it. When you color it with a self tanner, you are only coloring a couple layers of skin. When they flake off, you are going to have splotches. So it's best to use a scrub exfoliant every time you shower to avoid this problem.
Personally, I was completely satisfied with the product. You just have to use it properly. I read lots of reviews on it before I used it so I would avoid all the problems you mentioned above.
I say, give it another shot! Just do things differently this time...
