Platform shoe mania

First there were wedges, slowly creeping to the shops, and I wasn't too pleased. But, what could I do? They came as a huge trend and I just had to have at least a pair, if for nothing else, then to show off.

I should have guessed that they were only preparing terrain for platforms.

What can a sane girl say about platforms? Not much. (except scream her lungs out) I have to admit I rarely dislike trends, especially concerning clothes and shoes, but platforms are so unladylike, brute and uncute. It hurts me to see them.

If you thought that 3'' stilettos were difficult to wear, think again. I read somewhere that in the 70s hospital ER's were full of platform shoed people with twisted ankles.

To my utter disappointment, it seems they're going to stick around for a while; designers have prepared their spring/summer collections accordingly. And, wait, wedges are not over yet. Double the pleasure.

I have just one thing to be thankful about, platforms concerning: at least the 70s craze is banished out of them, with as little super glam retro as possible.

My suggestion: forget about your mamma's old shoes hiding in the closet. If you have to wear platforms, look at gucci for inspiration.
