One of my favorite bloggers, Maria Palma from The Runway Scoop reports about the skull-chic fashion trend arising as a designer answer to the popularity of the first Pirates of the Caribbean and its upcoming sequel. She points to the USA Today article, which says: Urban Outfitters offers more than a dozen skull-stamped products such as a $20 dopp kit and $88 rolling suitcase online. Dior's fine jewelry collection includes a diamond-encrusted skull pendant for $19,385 - with rubies or other gems in the eye sockets extra.
The trend, as such, is for everyone to decide upon, but certainly not my cup of tea. I don't see myself wearing skull-embroidered lingerie, but that's not what concerns me at this point. My concerns lie with once wonderful keira knightley I have already written about in very positive manner. As you can see on the photo, Keira has lost some considerable weight since we last saw her, and looks really anorexic.
As much as I don't care for the skull-chic trend, I do care about young girls having good role models, so I hope that they won't try to achieve this look by starving themselves.
The photo was taken at the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel premier, and the journalists asked Keira if she was suffering from an eating disorder. She replied that she isn't anorexic, but has that illness in the family. She also said: "In a way, it's good that it's out there and that people are talking about it. But whatever people say about my weight they are all wrong. Hollywood is all about the way you look and I don't think that's the healthy thing for anyone. But if you're strong and comfortable with yourself then you're going to be fine.'', The Age reports.
Rumor says that due to her sudden lack of meat on bones, stylists of the Pirates of the Caribbean had to work hard and employ some heavy padding to give her the 'pirate chick' curves.
And, as we smart girls know, you can't have the titties without the bum, so be proud of yours! Don't starve yourself to look like movie stars, look how far J. Lo has got with her luscious behind!
