No more hair products
Although I thought this day would never come, I must inform you that one of my dearest friends has stopped using hair products. (Thank you, I'm okay. A little shaken, but fine.)

She said she got really fed up with all the hair products, which she bought and were now clogging her bathroom cupboardlinks. Also, she read the story titledThe great shampoo scandal on 100777 website, where it states: The truth here is that shampoo's bad for your hair.

The article states that shampoo, in fact, is used because water got more alkaline, and the normal soap stopped working. But, shampoo is very harsh and damages hair, so conditioner had to be invented, to put the artificial oils back on hair as the natural oils were being stripped by shampoo.

There's more: But the real cheat in shampoo is when it's sold as being especially good for your hair. Expensive shampoos are in a way better, but only because the conditioner that comes with them is better at covering up the damage done by the shampoo

And the author gets really pissed when shampoo manufacturers state that shampoo can revitalize, repair or put shine in your hair: Remember that your hair's dead. That exposes half of shampoo advertising as lies. Remember that shampoo is just detergent. That shows that most of the remaining half is lies too. Remember that the oils your hair needs come naturally out of your scalp, as they've been doing for thousands of years before conditioner was invented. When you think about it, nothing that is claimed about shampoo and conditioner is true.

Reading all this, my friend said 'enough' and now she washes hair with baby shampoo, rinses it out with lemon-enhanced water and that's it. She puts an olive oil mask once a week (read about this mask in my Keeping the locks post).

I hate to admit it, but she's doing fine, and her hair has gotten no worse than before the harsh restrictions were applied.

I'll keep a close watch at the progress and report back, but please let me know what you think about this. Insane? Great? Speak gals!
