It's a good day for perfumistas as Chandler Burr's new book, The Perfect Scent: A Year Inside the Perfume Industry in Paris and New York was today released on Amazon.com.

Best known as the perfume critic for the New York Times, Burr compares and contrasts his insider experiences with two major brands, one mass and one luxury - Coty and hermes - over the course of a year as they developed new fragrances. The Perfect Scent follows Burr's successful The Emperor of Scent: A True Story of Perfume and Obsession .
