Perfumer Kilian Hennessey is indeed from *that* Hennessey family but instead of sitting on his handsome laurels, he's founded By Kilian, an ultra-luxe niche perfume house.

Launching this September is the seventh fragrance from By Kilian, Prelude to Love Invitation. Created by perfumer Calice Becker, the scent is designed to be an olfactory memory of a first encounter. Top notes are "a splash of crimson blossoms...a refined yet bold bouquet of the noblest citrus...the sweetness of bergamot, the delicacy of Seville orange and the brightness of lemon" with heart notes of intense ginger and pepper, neroli and orange blossom. Regal Iris of Florence is the crowning note.

Prelude to Love Invitation will retail for $225 for a 1.7 oz. refillable bottle (refills are $115) and will be available in September online and via Bergdorf Goodman, Aedes and Scent Bar. Happy Sniffing!
