Mmmm jacket
Posted on 28 February 2007

Are we ever satisfied with the amount of clothing our closets are bursting with? In search for the perfect jacket, which will not only be pretty, but also casual enough to go with my plain jeans and new Pumas. Oh, yes, I needed the jacket to be also upgradeable.
One of the things that hurt my fashion jealousy eye the most when I was watching The Devil Wears Prada was the amount of jackets that strict Miranda had. If only for brief seconds, those were the most beautiful jackets I have seen on film, absolutely perfect for the outfits underneath.
My sad truth is that unfortunately I do not possess enough money to get all the coats, trenches, jackets and blazers my heart longs for, but I do try to get the perfect ensemble together nonetheless. Recently I realized that I do not have an appropriate jacket for more casual outfits. Oh yes, I do have sport-elegance parkas, I have faux-fur coats, I also have a comprehensible collection of metallic, posh, and every other kind of outerwear, but nothing I would put on with middle-class jeans, great sneakers and a pretty tee. Or a flirty blouse, capris and high heel boots, still keeping it kind of casual.
This Sass & Bide washed silk jacket might be the one: Black washed silk jacket with brass ball buttons. sass & bide jacket has epaulettes on shoulder, four pockets on the front, inverted pleats on front and back and a wide button-down collar. Jacket has tab detail and belt loops on waistband and button fastenings on cuffs and front.
Getting this one will satisfy my sense of perfectly appropriate for a while.
