Mascara Myths Busted

to complement your eye color, you should dot concealer on certain areas, you should draw a sharp line around the edge of your mouth to prevent lipstick from bleeding...and the list just goes on and on and on. Some of the information contradicted other information, which could be confusing, but who cared? You were wearing makeup! The current Allure magazine is busting some of the mascara myths you might have grown up with. Do any of these sound familiar?
* Pump that mascara wand in and out of the tube to get the most color.
* Eyelash curlers are bad for your lashes.
* Blondes should only wear brown mascara.
If they do sound like something you heard, and religiously followed, they're not necessarily right.

Pump that mascara wand at the risk of loading up too much product on it and transferring a gunky mess to your lashes. Add to that you may be drying out your mascara prematurely.
Eyelash curlers are not evil if used correctly; that is, before applying mascara. Using a curler after mascara application is just asking for it to stick to your lashes and yes, pull them right out.
Black mascara is for everybody. It doesn't have to look harsh on even the palest lashes and can do a lot for opening up the eyes and making them pop.
Makeup rules are always made to be broken, so if you want to wear purple eyeshadow even though your mom told you it was terrible for your complexion, go ahead and wear it. Just make sure you find the right shade to flatter your skin.
'Til next time, my pretties.
