Year after year I throw old, rarely used, neglected, forgotten or dried-out lip gloss away by the bucket. And it's not only me, all my girlfriends say the same thing happens to them too. Why do we buy so much of the stuff, I can't really tell, but once you find the perfect clear one, you must have a plumper version, after that a glittery one, than you prefer something with some color in it ... and the circle goes on, until you have at least three in each bag, one in each pocket and some in the refrigerator too.
I was just thinking how to stop the lip gloss negligence and came up with a clever plan: from now on I forbid myself to buy anymore until all of the ones I already have are used up. Not only will it be beneficiary to my bank account, but it does add up to quite a sum ($ 3,50 + 4 + 7 + 3 makes for a manicure).
On top of that, I'm going to use my lip glosses everywhere I go, and instead of chap stick or lip balm. That means at home, in the gym, in the garden or walking the dog. Anytime my lips need moisturizing, I'll just put some lip gloss on. Which makes sense when you think about it: a girl always wants to look her best and does not know when she's going to run into someone interesting.
The rest of my lip glosses, which I haven't opened yet, I'm going to donate to MUA charity, and do some good with things I don't really need.
If I calculated right I have enough of lip gloss to last me a good six month's time. How do you deal with this issue?

My lips got so dry, and flaky that it was painful, so I wouldn't advise it.
I do use lipgloss over my chapstick though. I think I read somewhere that it helps it stay better.
