Is it time to clean out your makeup bag? Do you know when that time is? If you're not sure, this helpful article, De-clutter Your Makeup Bag, by Ariane Poole, gives good advice on how long to hold onto your cosmetics.
Makeup doesn't last forever and products do need to be tossed and replaced from time to time. Also, don't forget to clean your storage areas, including what you use at home and what you carry with you.
If you don't think you can remember to do this on a regular basis, maybe you can use certain times of the month or year to remind yourself. For instance, when the season changes and hopefully, you change your makeup along with it, empty your makeup bag and take an honest assessment of what's in there. Summer colors should be put away (or thrown away, depending on age) to make room for fall makeup. Do the same at the beginning of each season and you'll be sure to wear the most current, and freshest, looks.
