Interval training burns more fat

When I run I always alternate fast sprinting with almost walking, because I suck when it comes to sports. The same goes for exercising on my home elliptical treadmill, where I cycle like a mad woman for ten minutes and than try to catch my breath for another ten taking it slowly.

Although I was not aware of this, it seems that interval training is just the thing to lose weight faster!

As the Six Wise article states:

"One study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology followed a group of people who alternated 10 sets of four-minute bursts of bike riding at 90 percent effort with two-minute intervals of rest. After training every other day for two weeks, they:
· Increased their cardiovascular fitness by 13 percent
· Burned 36 percent more fat in an hour of continuous cycling than they did before the interval training
· Increased the enzyme activity in their muscles"

So, if you want to maximize your training efforts, you should for example run for three minutes than walk another three and all over again. Sounds good to me.

Swimming is a great source of low impact exercise to carry out for your cardio. In fact, Swimming is the lowest form of impact cardio readily available to the vast majority of people.

    Swimming

This is so due the the lack of heavy resistances often encountered in most other types of cardio, such as jogging, where large forces are exerted through the body.

The beauty, also, of walking or jogging is that
one can continue to increase the level of intensity
depending on their improving Fat Loss goals.
It can be simply done by introducing a moderately
sloped hill to your usual route or even slightly
incrementing the pace. The variety is vast.
