Heat proof showering
Posted on 26 June 2007

I don’t know about you, but this heat is driving me crazy. The only way I survive is to shower as often as I can, with cool and refreshing water giving me if only 15 minutes heat-brake. I take a shower in the morning, another one when I come home from work, yet another when I’m done grocery shopping, and the final one after working out and before going to sleep. And guess what – my skin is flaky.
The thing is – soaps, washing gels and other soapy bathroom delights dehydrate your skin, no matter what the label says. I guess we could treat our bods with body lotion after every shower – but who would do such a thing four times a day? On top of it, body lotion makes me feel hot again, so I cream up only at the evening.
The smart way to do multiple showering is to stop using soap with every shower. I know it sounds weird, but trust me, plain water is going to wash away any sweat, and leave you refreshed. Use soaps two times a day as a maximum, you’ll notice a great difference.
