Hearing Aid Styles
Posted on 23 January 2010

Once upon a time, having to wear eye glasses was so embarrassing, people would skip wearing their prescribed glasses just to get escape the stares and giggles behind their backs. But gone were the days when wearing large framed eyeglasses makes one dorky. Nowadays, there are many styles to choose from that are fashionable, modern and very stylish, so much so that even when they could actually wear contact lenses, people opt to wear glasses instead.
The same is true if you have to wear a hearing aid. Several years ago, they were huge and even from a distance, people could easily see if you're wearing one. But nowadays, there are many styles of hearing aids to choose from, largely depending on the severity of your hearing loss and the size and shape of your ear. If behind-the-ear (BTE) styles are still to conspicuous for you, you can opt for those hearing aids that are placed in the ear (ITE), in the canal (ITC), or completely in the canal CITC. Talk to your docotr to find out which may be the best option for you.
