Growing your own beauty tools
Since I love to cook I spend quite some time searching for just the right ingredients, spices and herbs. I have adopted a habit of growing fresh herbs in my kitchen; the little pots get outside in summer time. It's quite a joy watching them develop from little seeds, and I can tell you that dried herbs do not even come close to fresh ones.

This is why Jasmin from Treehuger brightened my day by writing that you can also grow at least one of the beauty tools in your own garden! I'm of course talking about luffa (or loofah), one of the most useful things a gal can have near her shower, to scrub off jucky old skin and make place for skinny new one.

Jasmin says:
"The luffa is a member of the gourd family, grown not for eating, but for its dense and fibrous internal skeleton. When the fruit has matured and dried in about 6 months, you peel off the skin and remove the seeds, leaving behind the familiar sponge-like fibers."

To grow loofah on your own, check out this Mother Earth News article. It seems easy enough, and let me tell you, once you managed to successfully grow thyme indoors (as I have), loofah is easy.

Just imagine - the bliss of perfect scrub and massage whenever you want it, home-grown and so money saving! And your girlfriend will be sooo jealous!
