Reading Style Spotlight, one of my favorite celebrity gossip blogs, recently, I stumbled upon an announcement the owner Ella has made:

As owner of a blog network, I wanted everything to be vulgar-free, nudity-free and cuss-free. Sometimes that doesn't happen. These things are difficult to maintain in a celebrity blog. These things are difficult to moderate with headstrong bloggers. Some of my moral aspirations have to give in order to get attention. I love attention, I can't help it. Was I wrong to have this blog?

This was of course provoked by Miss Cinnamon posting a number on Mary Kate Olsen's alleged anorexia. People got really fired up about the weight issue, and posted comments with their opinions. Which is just the point of having a blog: writing something and getting a response from people who read it. But Miss C. got the boot, because her use of curse words was too much for the owner.

To be honest, I searched through the site to look for any disgusting vulgarities and couldn't find any, but I respect Elle's decision. I too try to write without employing use of swear words, because I have been taught that a lady never uses profanities. Also, my favorite kind of fun is making fun of myself, and I wouldn't curse my favorite person :)

Anyhow, I wouldn't make fun of someone's weight issues, illness, financial status or religion, but that's about it I think. I read tons of celebrity gossip blogs, and let me tell you, they are fun! Swearing, trashing and belittling celebrities who have the money, the stylists and other resources to make themselves beautiful and educated, and yet choose to run around doing (and wearing) the darnest things, is fun. Look at some of the harshest recent articles from popular celebrity bloggers:

	The Superfical is talking about Keira Knightley's barefoot walk down the streets: I'm all for looking poor, but even dirty hobos wear shoes. I guess it'd be unrealistic to expect celebrities to have as much sense as some guy who lives in a cardboard box and screams obscenities at children and fire hydrants.
	The TMZ alleges that Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are only pretending to have a child, and even provides a lot of photos to prove so: New rumors surface by the hour -- that Tom and Katie are holding out for a better magazine photo deal, that Scientology is involved in the mystery, that Suri doesn't even exist!
	The Bastardly finds it interesting that Paris Hilton is having way too much fun with her parrot: Is there anyone (or in this case, anything) that she won't let get fresh with her??? Does she have a checklist of every possibly mammal, creature, etc... in the world to mess around with? Where can we sign up?
	Yeeeah thinks Fergie's body does not match her head: She may have the best body money can buy but her ugly head is another story. The best option would be to cut her head off and start over with a new one.
	Go Fug Yourself tells us that Chaka Khan sports a really peculiar style: And why isn't it made of thicker chain mail? I think I spy with my little eye something beginning with "c" and ending in "amel toe", and it's all thanks to your joyless tights.
	Bad Hair Day is of opinion that Kylie Minogue should wear wigs: But it has gone on for too long now, and I'm really wondering why the hell she hasn't invested in some great wigs? The weird texture and bleached color is so Annie-Lennox-ugly (minus the vocal talent), does she want to look like a cancer patient permanently?
	The Celebrities Weblog found out Pamela Anderson admitted to taking the easy path to up her career: "I've been fortunate - I haven't had too many auditions. I slept with the right people" Imagine how much further along her career would be if she had had sex with them.

So yeah, bloggers can be harsh, or even doubtful when writing their posts, but I think there's a magic comment button under almost each article that allows you to speak your mind. And if you feel strongly about something, why not write your own story too?
