Go For the Faux - ModelCo's Self Tanning Glove
Filed in archive Product reviews on July 13, 2008

I'm not much of a tan-at-home kind of girl, instead, I file myself under 'pale and proud.' But ModelCo's new-ish Self Tanning Glove piqued my pasty-girl interest this summer and tested it out for the first time today.
After showering and exfoliating, I popped this easy to use glove on my hand and got to work, applying in circular motions all over my legs, leaving a light application at the end for my knees and feet (hint, mix self-tanner with a tiny bit of lotion to dilute it on these areas as they tend to absorb more of the solution.) The instructions insist that you wait a full ten minutes before dressing and I think that I must have cut myself a minute or so short as after the tan developed (over the course of 3-4 hours), I noticed tan lines from my post-shower flip flops. Overall, though, the tan looks great - it's a natural looking and a pleasant light to medium shade (so perhaps best for fairer skin tones.) The foul, DHA scent that many self-tanners leave was quite mild on this product, which was a nice surprise.
Just one word of caution - since the glove is soaked in solution, be sure to wash your hand thoroughly after applying or you'll wind up with one extra-tan hand. Maybe they can line the glove somehow to prevent this?
$36 buys 4 full body applications. Get it at ModelCo.com.
