Fighting cellulite: Why fight it anyways?
Posted on 02 March 2007

If you have watched closely, there indeed are ways to make cellulite less visible, to cover it up and make it look like you have no cellulite whatsoever. The truth is we should stop watching TV, runways and reading glossy magazines until they show us some women with cellulite. It shouldn't be so difficult: after all, 90 % of women have cellulite.
When you get sick of smearing green gue on your thighs, when you get bored with sweating doing the cardio and when you just refuse to wear long skirts, tights and pants, it's time to call for a time out and turn a blind eye to cellulite.
I know it's driving you mad, those dimples on your butt and legs, but when you think about it: all other women you know have it too, just hide it better. The only women who are cellulite free are…wait a minute, there isn't a profession which would guarantee no cellulite. Athletes have cellulite, stars have cellulite and models have it too.
So why are we all obsessing about it? Could it be that (again) some crazy little man dictates how women should look like? Is it all a cosmetic industry conspiracy? While pondering about it, check out the gal whose photo I posted.
It's Preta Gil, a Brazilian singer, who did quite a few appearances on the famous Rio de Janeiro carnival. As the Brazillian newspaper report, the singer danced her samba away, showing her cellulite and stretch marks without any shame. As I gather, she said: "I'm a Brazilian woman. We have cellulite, stretch marks and woman-like proportions, so why should we be ashamed of it?"

I think women are genetically disposed to worry about stuff like this. Men don’t worry if their fly is zipped.
