Drinking spoonfuls of sugar
Filed in archive Diet and Nutrition by Ivy on May 6, 2007
I've discovered years ago that watching my carb and fat intake can preserve my goal weight with very little exercise. That was a true revelation, after years of fighting with being overweight, trying every diet out there I was freed with this simple answer.

Even if you never struggled with your weight, or are happy just as you are, why not take a healthy approach to something you do every day: drinking soda and fruit juice. I always pick the brands with no sugar in it, or simply drink water, and this video shows why everyone should:

Admit that you had no idea how much spoons were in your drink! This much sugar in a can of coke or fruit juice can't be good for anyone, not only because of teeth decay, but also because it makes our liver work double time, raises insulin levels in our blood and increases chances for persisting fungus infections, to name only a few.

Avoiding too much sugar is the best way for most of us. There certainly are healthier ways to get your carbs if you still want them: whole-wheat bread, fruit or dark chocolate. Think about it and let me know.
