Do You Açai?

Minerals. Antioxidents. Micro beads. Aloe. Green tea.

All were the new buzzwords in skin care and cosmetics at some time. Today's buzzword is açai (pronounced ah-sigh-EE). What is it?

The açai berry is being touted as the new super power in natural ingredients. This berry comes straight from the Amazon rain forest and packs a huge nutritional punch in its tiny, blueberry-imitating body.

This Hartford Courant article states that
"açai is the new darling of the health and wellness industry."

Do You Açai?

As with any new and exciting development where nature meets cosmetics, expect açai to begin popping up everywhere very soon. Borba has already jumped into this new phenonemon with its açai-containing Gummi Boosters. If this little fruit does as much as it's reported to, then it deserves all the press it gets.

For those who love natural products and feel that we can find all the beautifying items we need right in our own backyard (or shipped in from South America), this new wonder-fruit should yield great results. You can eat it, put it in skin creams, shampoos, drinks...the possibilities seem endless. Quite a lot from such a tiny berry.

'Til next time, my pretties.
