Diptyque Sample Sale Report!

Discounts on beauty are few and far between, so when ultra-luxe candlemaker and fragrance house Diptyque holds a sample sale, NYC girls sit up and pay attention! I hit the sale early this morning with a couple of coworkers just to report back for faithful Are You a Beauty? readers.

The good news? Diptyque is offering up an amazing assortment of goodies – TONS of their beautiful candles in a myriad of scents, room sprays, soaps, shower gels, even gift sets, all at significant savings. For example – candles, normally $60, here $25. Burning Essences (room fragrance) were $10, while room sprays were 2/$15. Single scented soaps rang up for $5, while trio gift sets were just $10. Eau de Toilette's ranged from $25 – $50 depending on size.

The bad news? The sale was packed, even at 10:30 this morning. While there was plenty of merchandise to sort through, the line to pay was super long. In fact, we waited in it for over 30 minutes and it barely moved as the staff at the sale was writing down credit card numbers by hand. Not to mention, many shoppers at the sale were buying huge boxes of merchandise (undoubtedly some to resell on Ebay at marked up prices), so it took forever to ring them up. Sadly, we had to leave empty handed.

Bottom line, if you've got extra time and patience to spare, the Diptyque sale IS worth it. This beauty was too busy to wait. Here are the specifics from Daily Candy:
