But seriously, calcium plays a major role in regulating how fat is stored and broken down by the body. It seems that the more calcium there is in the fat cell, the more fat will the cell burn. Or, in simple terms, calcium will hurry up the fat out of our bodies. So, my dear girls, completely opposite of what we have been thought, dairy products will help you lose weight.
Like with all things, one must be careful with dairy. Only the low-fat dairy products will help you shed the unwanted pounds, and the research has shown that nonfat milk is one of the best dairy sources of calcium when dieting. You can also eat dark leafy vegetables, salmon, mackerel, almonds, or oats if you are not a milk lover, or you can simply buy some supplements and use them accordingly.
When choosing your calcium pills, make sure that you get the ones with added vitamin D, zinc and magnesium, which will help your body absorb calcium. You can find great nutritional and supplemental calcium info here.
The preferred Dosage of calcium, which can help you lose weight, should be from 1000 – 1300 mg a day.
