Beauty Routines: Nail polish corrector pen can cure you of headache
Filed in archive Beauty , Weekly beauty routines on December 25, 2006
Since it's Christmas Eve, my darling felt the urge to see his rather large family, which means extensive preparations for me as well. We have sent presents weeks in advance, and gracefully declined the invite to the annual day-before-Christmas dinner, and I really thought he would be strong enough to resist the call of his blood, but it turned out he is a sorry excuse for a macho man.
Luckily, I suspected something like this might happen, so I dry-cleaned one of my finer dresses in advance, and waited for him to start fidgeting - it was noon when he called his mother up and said we were coming after all. Which left me with two hours to do the whole beauty routine, from removing unwanted hair and coloring my hair to finding a perfect pair of tights and polishing my toenails and fingernails.
While the peroxide in L'Oreal Preference les Blondissimes Haircolor was doing its wonders and my legs were recouping after the wax, I decided to polish my nails. Of course, the minute my nails were halfway done, my cat Lucky jumped in my lap and started preparing to take his nap. Let me tell you just one thing - don't try putting on nail polish while you are also having a lap full of a heavy and demanding cat. More nail polish ended up on my cuticles, skin and fingers than usual, and of course it was a pretty burgundy red color, which is rather noticeable.
In these situations, a gal can really put nail polish corrector pens to its great use. Just imagine trying to correct your hand trembling nail polish application (a.k.a. nail polish mess) with a cotton round drowned in polish remover whilst trying desperately to preserve the polish on your other hand intact. Impossible to do, any girl who tried it will agree.
Also, if you forgot to purchase a real nail polish corrector pen, try to mend damage with a cotton swab dipped in some polish remover. It does not work as well, and you will have to change swabs often in order to prevent polish build up and transfer, but better something than nothing right?
If you want my most honest opinion, perform all your beauty wonders and procedures behind locked doors, which will prevent all interferences from other household members. Don't leave the sanctity of a bathroom even if your darling is in desperate need of a toothbrush, shower or razor and stay focused on important things. This way you'll be the first one to get ready, so you can also get mad because you are, for once, late because he took such a long time to prepare.
