Beauty Blog Hunt: Looks that don’t kill
Posted on 20 September 2006

Did you ever get hit by the thought, while looking at a perfect knee-high leather boots or a designer leather bag: -OMG, this was once a piece of an animal?
If yes, then you might want to visit my newest Beauty Blog Hunt find: the Vegan Fashion Blog. It's run by Cindy, a kind and generous sharer of all things pretty – which do not cause harm to other beings. I contacted her and asked her how she came up with the idea. Here's what she wrote:
"I wanted nonvegans to know that vegans come from all walks of life and that we aren't weird or strange. People are much more apt to listen to someone who is polished looking and fashionably dressed than someone dressed in boheme style. I love the comfort of boheme style clothing, but also like more feminine clothing. Many critiques will dismiss individuals dressed in the boheme style of clothing as hippy freaks or "vegan freaks" which is actually the
name of a forum. I want to be a girl and be a vegan."
Now, onto the blog itself. Cindy writes about shoes, clothes, accessories, cosmetics and all things stylish, and she is most certainly on the point, finding very lovely things to wear.
My favorite of her fashion articles is Vegan Cuban Party, which is in fact about food, but what would you expect from a foodie like me? Anyhows, I love the outfit she put together for the perfect salsa dancing night, go check it out.
Another favorite of mine is the Haus of Bags Spy Bag she posted about, which looks like real leather, and a lot like the Fendi original. And, since the colder weather is approaching, you might be interested in one more of Cindy's finds: the Guess Faux Leather Jacket. The jacket has it all – great color, interesting detail and oh-so-fashionable fur trim.
I am surely going to get some of Cindy's fashion finds, and have an ahh moment (instead of an OMG moment) wearing looks that don't kill (animals).

Thank you for the wonderful write up Ivy. You captured the essence of my site perfectly. I am loving your blog, especially the bits about “too skinny” models.
Another benefit to wearing “undead” fashions is they are much cheaper to purchase and much easier to maintain than the real thing!
