Beautiful bog hunt Wednesday: The Secented Salamander is perfume nuts!
Posted on 31 May 2006

You and me, we like some perfumes or we do not like them, can describe them as sexy, fresh, sporty, heavy and so on. But Mimi Froufrou of The Scented Salamander blog, she knows perfume history, can tell you which perfume was made by whom and can detect bergamot in the scent bouquet. She also spends her time thinking fragrances thoroughly through.
Tattoos are more like perfumes because they adorn the body and thus are made part of the representation of the self. You are also made morally responsible for the display of that art on your body, even if the author is not you. However, perfumes have more material to play with than flat tattoos; they have time and memory to play with., writes Mimi Froufrou, entrusting us with her perfume philosophy.
I mean, wow!
But, not to fret, Scented Salamander is not only perfume pondering. Along with perfume history, you can also find Perfume reviews and musings, unusual fragrance gift and shopping ideas, news, readings and recipes – what perfume loving girl could dare to wish for more?
For our parting, I leave you with a Mimi Scented quote of the day:
"Atlas cedar smells of churned wet clay, but also of warm human skin, of bodies after lovemaking. I like putting something human into a perfume. Nowadays, a lot of them smell clean, as if they were at war with the smells around us." by Jean-Claude Ellena.
