I know all of you have read or seen adverts promising miraculous weight loss with before and after photos and testimonials, but this girl is doing it in front of our eyes, showing how darn difficult it is to lose the 'excess baggage'. And let me tell you why I'm impressed: she didn't take the easy road.
Instead of getting diet pills, having surgery or developing an eating disorder, Fat Bitch decided to go on a low calorie low fat diet, with only 1300 daily calories and started exercising. Yes, you've heard right, she did the only really healthy thing you can do to lose weight: eat less and exercise more. In five months she has lost over 30 pounds, and got healthier, happier, changed her eating habits and boosted up her self-esteem.
But, one of the things she points out, that have followed her all through her life is weight discrimination: "WHY??!!!! are we THAT repulsive for the public to look at in these beautiful, stylish, hip clothes that are out there in the world? Perhaps the designers, manufacturers and advertisers are all in this conspiracy against us together. Are they afraid that the public won't buy the magazines or watch their programs if GASP! OH HORRORS! a size 14 or even above that size model has the audacity to wear their designs upon their bodies?! IT MAKES ME SICK!!!!!!!!!", she says.
Although obesity is not a condition to be taken lightly, neither should size 0 clothing be marked as a goal to aspire, and we should be able as a society to endorse health and not weight discrimination.
So, every time you are not feeling like it to - run, cook a healthy meal or go to your gym class - surf to Holly go Heavily and learn about taking baby steps at losing weight. Leave a comment, ask a question and be sure you'll get support and unconditional love for yourself as a human being, no matter what you weigh.
Fat Bitch tells us why she wants to lose weight and also points out one crucial thing:
"I was an overweight child and my family loved me so much that they kept showing it with more and more fattening foods. Now look at me. I'm an overweight adult who is struggling every day to change my life-long habits and it's very, very difficult.
Now I realize that I cannot place the ENTIRE blame upon my beloved family members, because after all, as soon as I became an adult human being I ALSO became responsible for my OWN actions as one, but I've read the statistics and I've seen the connections, so I am imploring you guys here who are parents/caregivers right now or who may one day become parents/caregivers - there are SO many healthier ways to show your children that you love them. Don't condemn them to my fate by rewarding their behavior with the wrong kinds of food."
