As Tina Cassidy of The Globe writes:
"When the most recent J. Crew catalog arrived, a mindless glance at the first few pages was disorienting. Wait, was this Liz Lange's latest maternity offering for summer? Page after page carried baby-doll-style tops with ample pleats and fabric around the middle."
Even though many celebrities have embraced this style (the Globe article suggests that they might be too thin so they're covering it up), the experts suggest that you should be careful when wearing this style. A few actresses have been front-paged for being pregnant when the only thing they did was to wear a baby-doll.
"Dava Muramatsu, owner of the Matsu boutique on Newbury Street, is welcoming the shift from tiny and tight clothing to looks with more subtle sex appeal. Muramatsu believes the key to wearing the look is to balance the billowing with the fitted -- the same way women wore oversized sweatshirts with leggings in the '80s."reports Tina Cassidy.
Now we finally know why the leggings are came back - to support baby-dolls and layers of course! Anyhow, I always prefer skinny jeans to leggings, so do try them on if you are a legging hater too.
If you're looking for some nice baby-doll tops, check these out: Velvet Celeste top or Paul & Joe Silk Cami.
