And all those fantastic 10 day 20 pounds less testimonials should really ring a fad diet bell in your head. And, if you're still determined to give it a try, don't drink the apple vinegar itself. Take caplets or tablets instead, to preserve your stomach from damage.
You see, the real apple cider vinegar can cause gastroenteritis, and a lot of other stomach problems. A parasite called Cryptosporidium parvum can hide in the vinegar, and once infected, you can do very little to get rid of it.

Oh really? My mother swears by it but the thing is she doesn't take it plain. It's a teaspoon of vinegar, a teaspoon of honey diluted in a glass of water. She says it purges the body of uric acid. True enough, at 74 she doesn't suffer from rheumatism or arthritis.

I'm glad to hear your mother is doing great, thumbs up for her. The thing I was saying is: there are no scientific evidence. But, maybe in case of your mother a mix of goood genes and healthy lifestyle with a touch of placebo...who knows? I was just trying to warn all you girls out there that the vinegar thing is not to be taken lightly.

Do you have scientific proof that it's harming your body? My mum have been drinking that for a couple of years and there's nothing bad that comes out of it. The only thing she said it's s good for my body and I was force to drink it.
I must admit I hate the taste of that vinegar but I can't deny that it's not healthy.

Hi George! I wouldn't be writing something if I hadn't collected enough information. Just follow the last link. If your mother still wants to drink the stuff, please advise her to drink apple cider vinegar pills instead.

Interesting. I've read on many "legitimate" health sites that ACV actually helps prevent gastroenteritis because the viral and bacteria forms are unable to survive in an alkaline environment. ACV w/ baking soda alkalizes the stomach, and therefore reduces inflammation and prevents bugs from prospering.
I agree that there are many questionable "miracle cure" claims, but the alkalinity science makes sense.
