Anti-cellulite creams help
Posted on 05 January 2007

Going on with our anti-cellulite fight, today I'll say a thing or two about anti-cellulite creams. As Lisa at the Beauty Beat states:
"I ask my French friend her secret. Apparently she, and all her Parisian compatriots swear by anti-cellulite lotions and potions – she's been using them since puberty! Do they really work? 'Yes,' my friend assures me, 'but you have to use them religiously.'"
I agree, but let me be frank – creams, lotions and gels won't magically take your cellulite away, but will surely make it less visible, your skin firmer and looking better.
Over the years of bikini and skirt wearing I have tried 20+ different anti-cellulite creams, and I can honestly tell you there is little difference between a gel costing $15 and a cream costing $100, so don't get fooled into buying a more expensive product. It only smells nicer, the rest is much the same.
The most important thing to know and obey when trying to lessen the appearance of orange peel on your thighs, buttocks and tummy is that you have to smear it on every single day in order for it to be effective. That means every night (or morning) after the shower you have to take that three minutes and put some cream on your 'trouble' areas or it won't work. You don't have to massage it in or perform special rituals, simply put it on and be consistent.
But, putting anti-cellulite cream on every day could be expensive, you might argue. Well, if you spend $15 a month for a cream that is going to bring you much self-confidence, I say it's not expensive at all.
I'm going to write about my top 4 anti-cellulite creams in a day or two, but if you are really eager to start right now, know this: If you want your anti-cellulite cream to work it should contain caffeine (which helps fat cells release fatty acids), retinol (which increases levels of collagen), and AHAs (which improve the overall look of the skin).
Stay tuned for some creams that really worked for me!

I completely agree with this article. I’m sure anything you use religiously eventually starts to work. One thing I’ve tried that I LOVE LOVE LOVE is the Murad Firm and Tone Serum (Shape Magazine’s beauty award-winner for 2005). It doesn’t make your cellulite go away, because as you mentioned, nothing really does. It just makes all your problem areas seem less noticeable and problematic. You can check out this product and more at http://www.murad.com/cellulite-products.html
Thanks Diana, I already tried Murad and it’s good, but it does not make my top 5 anti-cellulite lotions and potions list.
When are you going to tell us the top 5??? I need to buy some more product but I don’t want to waste my money.
I have been using Avons. You are right about having to do it every day. Sometimes I skip a little in the winter – probably because it is cold where I live and I don’t see the problem areas as often. Thanks!
Darling Jennifer, my top anti-cellulite creams have been posted about for quite some time now. Maybe you missed the post, check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/yugrlh
